About the Album:
This album was written, recorded, and produced by Toren Davis, a musician and family physician in Wilmington, North Carolina. The album captures the Lo-Fi feel and atmosphere of creating music in the middle of the pandemic. Each song was written and recorded in various settings by Toren while he worked as a family physician during covid. Each track’s unique recording environment and folk roots give an intimate, playing in the room next to you, feel.
The themes of the tracks touch on things Toren was working through at the time of writing and recording. From personal stories such as the importance and beauty of kindred spirit relationships, finding the strength in yourself to rise, witnessing and reminding others of their strength and importance, and reflecting on loss, to protest songs about societal disparities and the duel nature of the medical field, this album captures Toren’s process of “Working Through Some Stuff”.
